I would say know because they run on electrcity. Most of our electric plants run on gas, there for making electric mowers not "green mowers".

Well, they are definitely 'greener' than using gas powered mowers. The best option is a manual push mower that uses nothing but people power to run! Check out this article about using push mowers!

Anything that uses the current popular energy source is not green. Man powered lawn mover is greener.

well i think it makes it easyer than a man powerd mower and its still a lot better than gas powerd mowers, there fore we are still hellping the envierment by not using as much energy

I love the green part...but I keep reading comments about "man power"... is a reel mower a realistic option for a 53 year old (and ever aging), 40 hour a week office working woman (read: not in the best of shape) with two good sized and not very level lawns with trees who also needs to have enough time and energy left over to keep up a large garden and typical household/life chores???
