i purchased a TASK FORCE 20" REEL PUSH MOWER from lowes, and i do not recommend this product.

the mower did give a clean cut to upright grasses, but did not provide acceptable cutting action for bent grasses. however, the worst aspect of the mower was the poor design of the handle. it is a thin tubular handle like many reel mowers, and after only a few uses, it bent at the connection to the mower. once the tubular piece was bent, it continually got worse as it would bend and pop off the mower every few minutes of use.

i had to return the mower to lowes, and i am searching for a higher quality replacement.

I bought my Gilmour reel mower from a man off Craigslist. A part had been put on incorrectly and the blade was rubbing horribly making all sorts of noise. At first I didn't realize it was installed incorrectly and thought perhaps they were just that noisy. I thought Oh, no what have bought. My daughter was saying please stop mommy it hurts my ears.
However, once I discovered and corrected the problem, I was very pleased. The front where the grass had been maintained was fairly easy, just a good work out.
The back however wasn't very well maintained and is rather diffifult.

Bought a Craftsman Silent Cut 18'' from Sears and absolutely love it. It is easy to push and the construction seems very durable. Assembly took less than 10 minutes.

I purchased a "Sunlawn" mower from People Powered Machines.

I really love it. The grass looks beautiful after I use it. My husband refuses to use it, but I am the one that cuts the grass anyway. It is easy to use, but obviously a little more work. I do have to mow regularly so that it doesn't get too long. I am very happy with this product.

Hi lets go green. I found a task force 18 inch reel mower at Lowes for 120 it has a a bag to catch grass and don't get my shoes dirty sometimes the bag comes loose with the velcro type attachment. it seems to be good to use i used it 1 time so far and i like the way it cuts. i had to tighten the wheel on it (which i dislike) i think i take the turns to fast. i have 1/2 acre. Now wee need to find something that weed eats around the fence rocks trees and stuff with no gas. I like it my old mower bent the shaft and is worthless the green mower is priceless.
